Erica Lawless

Erica discovered Pilates as a way to regain strength, balance, and control after recovering from major spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis in 2002. As a dancer, she learned the value of building stronger core muscles in order to improve postural alignment, prevent further injury and pain, and reintegrate complex movement back into her body safely and effectively. As a Pilates practitioner and instructor, she has since developed a greater appreciation for the method and it's focus on functional movement, uniform muscle use, flexibility, and awareness and hopes to help others realize the benefits of Pilates according to each individual's needs and goals. Erica received her Pilates training through the Body Arts and Science International (BASI) Comprehensive Teacher Training program and holds a BA in Sociology from Loyola Marymount University.

Erica Lawless instructs the following:
  • Intermediate/Advanced Reformer
  • Group reformer for 3-6 participants. An intermediate to advanced class that generally includes the classical Pilates exercise regime and sequencing. Prior experience on the reformer and/or instructor’s approval required to join this class.

  • Group Reformer Mixed Level
  • All levels welcome. 55-60 minute Pilates workout. Most of the session devoted to work on the spring loaded Pilates machines, but may also include some matwork. This is a mindful full body workout that builds core strength, increases flexibility, improves balance, alignment and coordination. Maximum of 6 students taught by 1 instructor. Small classes allow us to provide individual attention and hands on guidance.

  • Group Reformer Gentle & Focused
  • A group reformer class with 3-6 students.  Emphasis on working a bit slower than other mixed level classes, with attention to individual students needs for modification of movements. Good for beginners; those returning to exercise.  There may be attention to rehabilitation if needed.
